According to the forecast by Geosphere Austria, the weather in Austria will remain mild for this time of year. Especially in the east of the country, it will be very warm at the beginning of the coming week due to high air pressure and temperatures of up to twelve degrees.

Today, Friday, there will continue to be frequent cloud accumulation on the northern side of the Alps, accompanied by repeated rain or snow. The snow line will be between 400 and 1,000 meters. Away from the congested areas, there will be brief showers in the northern half. In the east and south, it will often remain dry, and there will be occasional clearing. The sun will be brightest in the south. The wind will be weak to moderate, occasionally strong to gale-force from a westerly to northerly direction at higher altitudes. Early temperatures will range between minus five and plus four degrees, while daytime highs will be between one and seven degrees.

Very mild weather at the weekend in Austria
From Salzburg to the Vienna Woods, there will still be some residual clouds and occasional showers on Saturday, with the snow line between 300 and 900 meters. In the west and south, the weather will become increasingly sunny as the air pressure rises. However, fog or high fog may still persist at lower altitudes. In the north and east, in particular, moderate-to-brisk winds will blow from westerly to north-westerly directions, especially in exposed areas. Early temperatures will be between minus six and plus three degrees, while daytime highs will reach between two and nine degrees.

On Sunday, the weather will be dominated by high pressure. Only in the evening will a weak disturbance zone pass to the north. In some areas within the Alps and in the south, isolated patches of fog may persist. Otherwise, the sun will shine for longer periods. In the afternoon, clouds may appear at times in the north and east. The wind will be weak to moderate, mostly from the west. Early temperatures will be between minus seven degrees in East Tyrol and plus three degrees in the eastern lowlands. During the course of the day, maximum temperatures will rise to between three and ten degrees.

The start of the week brings up to twelve degrees in eastern Austria
On Monday, the high air pressure in the eastern Alps will continue to dominate the weather. Apart from localised, persistent fog, sunny weather will prevail. Only in the north-east will areas with few clouds pass by at times. Winds will be moderate to brisk in the east but otherwise mostly weak. Early temperatures will range between minus six degrees in some Alpine valleys and plus four degrees with wind in the east. Daytime highs will be between four and twelve degrees.

High air pressure and mild air masses will continue to determine the weather in the Eastern Alps on Tuesday. It will again be mostly sunny. In the north and east, clouds may appear at times, but it will remain dry. The wind will initially blow moderately from the west in the north; later, it will be weak everywhere. Temperatures in the morning will be between minus five and plus five degrees, with the higher values in the windy east. Daytime highs will be between four and twelve degrees.
